New Retailer FAQNow that you have made the obviously wise and intelligent choice of joining our service, let's get started setting up your account! We suggest that you print this message out and walk through the steps with the printout next to your computer. STEP 1: Setting Default MarkupsThe first thing that you should do is Set Your Default Markups on your inventory. Go to VirtCert.com -> Retailer Tools -> Set Retail Markups to Customers Enter your user name and password when prompted. They should be whatever you filled in on your Membership Setup Form under Desired User Name and Desired Password (or whatever we told you it would be). You should see a box with DEFAULT MARKUP in it. Next to this will be a link that says View/Edit. Click on the View/Edit link and it will open you Markup Adjuster. Go through the list and set your markups to what you want them. You can change your Default Markups or define a different set of markups for a particular company at any time. The Pre-Markup Amount is a dollar amount that you add to your cost before calculating the markup percentage. The Post-Markup Amount is a dollar amount that you add to your cost after calculating the markup percentage. These are useful for when you want to build in shipping charges or tariffs into the listed price of the diamond. Most companies break these prices out separately so their prices look cheaper, but this feature is here if you need it. Go down the list and set your markups to whatever percentage you wish to use. A 30% markup on a $1000 item would give a price of $1300. A -10% markup (a 10% discount) would give a price of $900.00 (if you have some reason to sell at a discount). After you have set all your markups, click on the button that says
"Then Click Here to Save Your New Markups" and your markups
will be set. STEP 2: Getting AuthorizedThe next step is to request access to the inventory of our various wholesaler members. Go to VirtCert.com -> Retailer Tools -> Authorize Wholesalers You will see a list that probably includes only your company in green boxes. At the bottom of the page there is field labeled "Select the Wholesaler:" with a a drop-down list containing a list of the VirtCert Wholesaler Members. Click on a Wholesaler that you would like to do business with. Click on the button labeled "And Then Click Here To Authorize This Seller". You will get a new screen that now shows the wholesaler in your list, with a Wholesaler Status of Requested. VirtCert has just sent an email to that wholesaler requesting that they approve you to carry their inventory on your web site. When they approve you, you will receive an email informing you of their approval and their inventory will automatically appear in your web site. You don't have to do anything else. You probably have already recieved two of these emails when we set
up your account. You don't have to do anything with these emails; they
are just notifying you that we have set up your account. STEP 3: SearchingOnce you have been authorized by one or more wholesalers, you can then
use your private search engine to view inventory, complete with price,
cost, profit and STEP 4: Your Web SiteThe next step is to put the search engine into your web site. Since
this step is different for each member, please contact us and we'll
